Sunny Skies Community is an outreach of Authors Symposium, a publishing company founded by Mel & Sunny Calvert, which helps new authors prepare their books for print with no up-front costs. Calvert has four published books, years of blogs, and several articles for magazines. He realizes the positive, cathartic effect that writing about one’s experiences can have on a person.

Writing as a form of expressive therapy has been found to alleviate stress caused by previous adverse events and aids in self-awareness and self-development. In one study, the experimental group made significantly fewer visits to a physician in the following months. The participants found writing to be very valuable, meaningful,* and a step on the road to recovery.
